Written, composed and performed by Carly Simon in the 1988 film “Working Girl”, it won the best Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe. It was the first song written and performed by a single artist to win all three. Carly Simon says she was inspired by the script and the poems of Walt Whitman and that she wanted to write a hymn to New York. Here are the opening credits of the film:
